Offensive Player of the Week: Danielle Toney, Penn State, F - Jr. - Northville, Mich. – Northville

Danielle Toney led Penn State to a pair of victories over top-25 opponents last week on the strength of three goals, including the game-winner against No. 22 Purdue on Sunday. The junior forward has already been hailed as the TopDrawerSoccer.com National Player of the Week thanks to her two impressive performances. In the Nittany Lions' 2-1 win over No. 23 Indiana, Toney opened the game in the 21st minute with a strike for her 10th of the season. Three days later, Toney launched the scoring-run once again against the Boilermakers, this time in the 13th minute with her 11th goal of the year. The junior forward capped the day with a breakaway goal for her 12th of the season, sending her to the top of the charts in goals and points (30) on the team, both of which are career highs. Toney now leads the Big Ten in goals and points, and is also tied for first in game-winners with four. This marks the second weekly laurel for Toney in 2009.

Last Penn State Offensive Player of the Week: Katie Schoepfer (Oct. 26, 2009)

Defensive Player of the Week: Alyssa Naeher, Penn State, GK - Sr. - Seymour, Conn. - Christian Heritage School

Alyssa Naeher earns her fourth weekly laurel of the season after delivering another solid performance in net for the Nittany Lions last week. The senior goalkeeper conceded just one goal over the course of two crucial games, including a 2-1 win at No. 23 Indiana and a 4-0 win over No. 22 Purdue. With the wins, Naeher lowered her season marks to 0.88 GAA and .832 save percentage for the year. The seven-time Big Ten Defensive Player of the Wee has contributed to all of Penn State's nine shutouts this season.

Freshman of the Week: Christine Nairn, Penn State, M - Fr. - Bowie, Md. - Archbishop Spalding

Christine Nairn had a stellar weekend, notching five points in two games while aiding in the Nittany Lions' pair of victories against conference foes. The Bowie, Md., native began the weekend with a thrilling 80th-minute game-winning goal at Indiana, keeping Penn State tied for first place in the conference standings. Three days later against Purdue, Nairn became the first Nittany Lion to post a triple-assist effort in the same game since Melissa Hayes accomplished the feat on Sept. 19, 2007. It's just the seventh time in PSU history that three assists were recorded by the same player in a single contest. She now leads the conference in assists with nine.  This is the second weekly honor for Narnin in her inaugural campaign.
