| Men's Swimmer of the Week: Titus Knight, Indiana, Jr. - Austin, Texas - James Bowie Hailing from Austin, Texas, Titus Knight found himself in familiar waters during Friday's dual meet against the highly-touted Longhorns. Although Texas would eventually prevail with a favorable score of 170-140, Knight contributed four top-two finishes, including an NCAA qualifying mark for his Hoosier squad. Knight continued his win streak in the 200 free, posting an NCAA B cut of 1:37.91 in the process. In the 100 and 500 free, he touched the wall in 45.24 and 4:33.13, respectively -- good enough for a pair of second-place finishes. Knight then closed the day by teaming up with Ante Zoricic, Bryan Chovanec and Tyler Shedron to clock a winning time of 1:22.45 in the 200 freestyle relay. This is the second-consecutive weekly award for Knight, who collected his first laurel a week ago. Last Indiana Men's Swimmer of the Week: Titus Knight (Oct. 27, 2009) Men's Co-Divers of the Week: Drew Brown, Minnesota, Jr. - Centennial, Colo. – Grandview Minnesota's Drew Brown garners his first weekly diving honor after aiding his squad to a dual meet victory over Wisconsin on Friday night. The Centennial, Colo., native posted NCAA Zone qualifying scores on both springboards while collecting a pair of top-three finishes. Brown began the meet in dominating fashion, cruising to a win on the three-meter board with a tally of 372.90 to better the competition by more than 25 points. He then notched a score of 310.58 in the one-meter event, good enough for third place. For his performance, Brown returns the weekly diving award to Minnesota for the first time since November of 2007. Last Minnesota Men's Diver of the Week: Cole Young (Nov. 13, 2007) Michael Ross, Wisconsin Fr. - Wilmette, Ill. - New Trier Michael Ross scored his first-ever win in taking the one-meter diving competition for the Badgers Friday against Minnesota. The freshman scored an NCAA qualifying mark of 326.93 to hold off teammate Caleb Percevecz on the one-meter board. He then followed that performance with another NCAA qualifying score in the three-meter competition, tallying 334.95 points to finish third and help the Badgers grab three of the top four spots in the event. Last Wisconsin Men's Diver of the Week: Caleb Percevecz (Oct. 13, 2009) Women's Swimmer of the Week: Kate Fesenko, Indiana, Sr. - Kharkov, Ukraine - Technology Lyceum Nine Kate Fesenko posted four individual top-two finishes and five top-three relay finishes in last a dual meet win over Michigan at Texas last week. Fesenko improved upon her NCAA B time in the 100 back, winning in 53.30. She also bettered her provisional cut in the 200 back with a time of 1:55.56. Both are currently the fastest times in the NCAA this season. The Kharkov, Ukraine native, then posted two second-place finishes in the 200 individual medley and in the 100 fly before leading Indiana to a pair of runner-up finishes in the 200 and 400 medley relays. Fesenko also contributed to the Hoosiers' second-place showings in the 400 and 800 free relays and swam on the the 200 free relay team, which took third. This is the second weekly swimming laurel for Fesenko in as many weeks. Last Indiana Women's Swimmer of the Week: Kate Fesenko (Oct. 27, 2009) Women's Diver of the Week: Kelci Bryant, Minnesota, So. - Chatham, Ill. - Keystone National In her first meet as a Golden Gopher, sophomore Kelci Bryant won both the one-meter and the three-meter competitions in Friday's dual meet against Wisconsin. Bryant, a transfer from the University of Miami, claimed top honors in the one-meter with a score of 323.33, besting the runner-up mark by more than 65 points. She followed that performance with her second win of the night when she took the three-meter event with a score of 374.10, almost a full 70 points ahead of the second-place finisher. Both marks were good enough to qualify for NCAA zone diving competition. With the award, Bryant returns the weekly diving laurel to Minnesota for the first time since Jacqueline Schroeder accomplished the feat in November of 2007.
