Broadstripe to Launch the Big Ten Network to Michigan Subscribers

St. Louis, MO., and Chicago – Broadstripe, a multiple-system cable operator with headquarters in St. Louis, today announced that it will offer the Big Ten Network to its subscribers in Michigan beginning Friday on Channel 55, its standard definition channel. The network will launch in high definition on Tuesday (9/30) on Channel 412 in most areas. Customers should check local listings.

"Broadstripe is pleased to be able to offer the Big Ten Network," said Frank Scotello, senior vice president of programming and product development. "We know that Michigan has many Spartan, Wolverine and Big Ten fans, and we expect that the network will quickly become a destination for our customers."

Big Ten Network President Mark Silverman said the network is looking forward to welcoming Broadstripe subscribers. "We're thrilled that Broadstripe in Michigan is joining the long and growing list of distribution partners offering the Big Ten Network to their customers," Silverman said. "When fans tune in, they'll find unparalleled coverage of Big Ten sports – they'll see more action and more in-depth analysis than ever before."

When the Big Ten Network is airing more than one football game at a time, Broadstripe will offer overflow channels so that fans can see the game that is most important to them. Broadstripe also will offer video-on-demand services later this year.

In addition to Michigan, Broadstripe serves customers in Maryland, Washington and Oregon.
