Big Ten Network Announces Staff Changes
Conlisk named VP, Communications and University Relations
Cohen now is Manager, University Development
CHICAGO - Big Ten Network President Mark Silverman today announced two staff changes related to the departure of Kevin Weiberg, former Vice President University Planning and Development.
Vice President - Communications Elizabeth Conlisk has been given expanded responsibilities and now is the Vice President, Communications and University Relations. Renee Cohen will move from Consumer Marketing Manager to Manager, University Development.
"Kevin has worked very effectively with our universities to help expand the range and scope of network programming, including non-athletic programming, and also has helped develop and implement the network's on-campus marketing campaigns," Silverman said. "We are fortunate that we have two experienced individuals in Elizabeth and Renee who will be able to successfully build on the foundation that Kevin has laid," he said.
Silverman said Conlisk will add the responsibilities associated with building the Big Ten Network's community of fans through social networking and nurturing the relationships with public affairs, government relations and alumni associations. She will also continue to oversee the network's communications and media relations efforts.
Before joining the Big Ten Network, Conlisk was the special assistant to the president for executive communications at The Ohio State University after being the university's spokesperson for five years. She also owned a strategic communications consultancy and held leadership positions in marketing and communications for Enron Gas Services Group and Miller Brewing Company.
Cohen will serve as the liaison to the athletic departments at each Big Ten institution and will work with internal departments on network needs on the 11 campuses. She also will manage communications for ad sales and production needs and will work with student organizations to create awareness and involvement with the network. Cohen will continue to fulfill all marketing agreements with the schools.
Before joining the network, Cohen was the marketing manager for Fox Sports Enterprises/Pac-10 Properties, the marketing arm for the Pac-10 Conference. She also spent three years in the Athletic Department at the University of Miami in various administrative and marketing positions.
