Ro*Tel, Big Ten Network Enter Multi-Faceted Sponsorship Program for 2008 Season

Ro*Tel joins Big Ten Network's sponsor roster

CHICAGO – The Big Ten Network has signed Ro*Tel to a multi-faceted sponsorship program for the 2008 College Football season, the network announced today. Based in Omaha, Neb., Ro*Tel products feature a signature blend of freshly diced tomatoes and zesty green chilies, popular ingredients in some of America's favorite tailgating foods like queso dip, chili and nachos.

The partnership includes exclusive sponsorship of the Big Ten Football Saturday remote game day set on campuses throughout the conference, category-exclusive sponsored segments during Big Ten Friday Night Tailgate and the network's football telecasts, and commercials, an online sweepstakes, and other elements. Financial terms were not disclosed.

"With an audience focused on enjoying the big game with family and friends, the Big Ten Network is an ideal place to share the zest of Ro*Tel with consumers," said Chris Sinta, director of sponsorships for ConAgra Foods. "Ro*Tel makes ordinary tailgating dishes come alive with the flavor of tomatoes, chilies and spices and this partnership with Big Ten Network allows us to share that with loyal football fans."

The partnership centers around the Ro*Tel Ultimate Tailgate Prize Giveaway, a sweepstakes conducted through www.BigTenNetwork.com. During the football season, five weekly winners will receive Ro*Tel and Big Ten prizes through the site's online store. The grand prize winner will receive the Ro*Tel Ultimate Tailgate Prize Package, which includes a tailgating grill, an eight-piece barbeque set, a tailgating tent and chairs of the winner's favorite Big Ten school, other tailgating necessities, an authentic game jersey of the winner's favorite Big Ten school and assorted Ro*Tel products to make their tailgate experience complete.

Through the partnership, Ro*Tel acquires the use of the Big Ten Network logo for use at on-campus and retail sampling, during in-store promotions with retail grocers, for online activation at school-specific web sites, in school-specific game programs, and in online brand advertising.

"The Big Ten Network is extremely pleased to partner with Ro*Tel for this coming football season. Our comprehensive media plan, which includes television, online and on-campus activation, will connect the Ro*Tel brand with the passionate fans of the Big Ten," said Roy Seinfeld, Big Ten Network vice president for advertising sales.

About Ro*Tel:
Ro*Tel, a brand of ConAgra Foods, Inc., began in the 1940s when Carl Roettele opened a small family canning plant in Elsa, Texas. Starting with the freshest, most flavorful tomatoes, he added chopped green chili peppers and a special blend of spices to create a sensational tasting meal and dip enhancer. Roettele originally shipped RO*TEL® Tomatoes and Green Chilies to nearby cities such as San Antonio, Houston and Dallas. However, word of mouth spread like wildfire and the brand quickly grew in size, and today enjoys a national retail presence. The product line has also expanded, and now provides consumers six distinct and delicious versions of that original tomato and green chili recipe. Ro*Tel, with its zesty, fresh flavor, remains the secret ingredient that's makes ordinary recipes come alive with Southwestern flavor.
