Injury forces Illini freshman out for the year

"I really feel for Amber and her family," Illinois head coach Jolette Law said of Moore's injury. "She worked so hard leading up to the season and was coming into her own as a player. We are still expecting big things from Amber here at Illinois, we'll just have to wait a little longer to see what she can do. Her attitude has been very positive about this so far and I'm confident she'll come back stronger than before."
Moore was injured with 4:01 left in the overtime period of Friday's game, the first game of her Fighting Illini career. She had eight points, including two three-pointers, in 22 minutes against the Owls. A native of Detroit, Mich., and a graduate of Country Day High School, Moore is scheduled for surgery in the coming weeks.
