Injuries to force Quinn to sit out final year

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Lady Lion senior guard Meggan Quinn (Red Lion, Pa.) will sit out the 2009-10 season due to knee injuries suffered throughout her collegiate career. The native of Red Lion, Pa., will serve as a team captain for her final season at Penn State.
 
Quinn, who has suffered ACL injuries to both knees while at Penn State, averaged a career-best 2.8 points per game a year ago and tallied a career-high five steals and two blocks. She had a career-high 16 points, including a 4-for-8 day from three-point range, against Coppin State on Nov. 29, 2008. For her career, Quinn averaged 2.1 points per game.
 
Her teammates and coaches have honored Quinn with the Jeanette Goss Courage Award in 2009 and the Tom Caldwell "Unsung Hero" Award in 2008. The two-time Academic All-Big Ten recipient is majoring in crime, law and justice and plans to pursue a career in law enforcement.

Penn State fans that attend the Indiana football game can use their football ticket to receive buy one ticket, get one free ticket for the Lady Lions' game against NJIT on Sat., Nov. 15.
