WILMINGTON, N.C. - The third-ranked Purdue women's golf team faced the top teams in the nation for the first time this season and came away with a sixth-place finish at the Landfall Tradition. The Boilermakers were tied for fourth with No. 13 Duke heading into Sunday's final round but fired a 299, giving them a 54-hole team total of 892 (302-291-299=892).

The Blue Devils erased a 10-stroke deficit to capture the team championship by firing a 288 in round three. Duke finished with a 17-over-par 296-297-288=881 score, earning a one stroke victory over top-ranked UCLA and No. 4 Auburn.

Auburn junior Cydney Clanton claimed medalist honors by five strokes (70-70-70=210) over Virginia's Brittany Altomare at the Country Club of Landfall's Pete Dye Course, a par-72, 6,325-yard venue.
The Boilermakers were led by Numa Gulyanamitta who followed up her two rounds of even par with a two-over 74 on Sunday. The junior from Thailand tied for seventh with a 54-hole total of 218 (72-72-74, +2) and has finished in the top 10 of all four events this fall.

After winning both events she competed in this season, junior Maude-Aimee LeBlanc tied for 24th with a score of 223 (+7). The Sherbrooke, Quebec, native fired a 76 in the final round after recording a 75 on Friday and an even-par 72 in the second round.

Kishi Sinha continued her improved play as a sophomore, tying for 38th against the nation's best collegiate golfers. Sinha scored a 76 on Sunday for a three-round total of 227 (77-74-76, +11). Junior Thea Hoffmeister was the third Purdue golfer to record a 76 in the final round. The native of Berlin, Germany, tied for 52nd place with a score of 230 (81-73-76, +14).

Freshman Laura Gonzalez Escallon saved her best round for the final day, firing a 73 on Sunday. She tied for 54th with a score of 231 (78-80-73, +14).

The eighth annual Landfall Tradition served as the NCAA Fall Preview. The Country Club of Landfall's Pete Dye Course is the site of the 2010 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships in May.

The No. 3 Boilermakers have completed their fall season and will resume competition when they host the Lady Puerto Rico Classic on Feb. 7 to 9 in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
