Former players land jobs as coaches
A pair of former Minnesota softball players recently landed coaching jobs at NCAA Division I institutions. Megan Higginbotham, a 2007 graduate, will join the staff at Florida International in 2010 as a graduate assistant, while 2008 graduate Colleen Powers joins the staff at Central Michigan this spring, also as a graduate assistant.
 
UGA rallies, ousts Michigan from WCWS
Despite a quick start and late surge, No. 7 Michigan softball team could not complete the comeback, falling to sixth-seeded Georgia, 7-5, in the loser's bracket of the Women's College World Series on Saturday.

Illini infielder earns All-American honors
Sophomore second baseman Danielle Zymkowitz was named an All-American by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, as announced by the organization on Wednesday. Zymkowitz earned third-team honors at second base.

Rallying back from an early deficit, the No. 7-ranked University of Michigan softball team claimed a decisive 7-1 victory over Baylor in game two of the NCAA Super Regional on Saturday.
 
OSU falls to UGA, ousted from tourney
Courtney Pruner powered the offense for the 11th-seeded Ohio State softball team that gave it an early lead against sixth-seeded Georgia – one that would be overcome by the Bulldogs with six unanswered runs for the 7-6 win in the best-of-three NCAA Super Regional.
 
Shaw powers Michigan past Baylor, 8-1
Dorian Shaw knocked out three home runs, tying a program single-game record, to lead the No. 7-ranked University of Michigan softball team to a dominant 8-1 victory over Baylor.
 
Ohio State drops 6-4 decision to Georgia
Courtney Pruner hit a three-run homerun in the top of the third inning that gave Ohio State softball a four-run lead, but Georgia scored six unanswered runs to give the Buckeyes a 6-4 loss.
