Scott Martin, one of four talented Boilermaker first-year players this past season, has decided to transfer, according to a school press release.
"Scott told me that he intends to transfer," Purdue coach Matt Painter said. "We'll help him any way we can, and wish him and his family nothing but the best in the future."
Martin, a high school teammate of Robbie Hummels at Valparaiso, played in 32 games this year, averaging 8.5 points per contest.
"I truly valued my time here at Purdue," Martin said. "I made many great friendships and met a lot of great people. I am thankful to the coaching staff and my teammates for the opportunity they have given me. I feel it is in my best interest to take a different route for my basketball career."
Neither Painter nor any other member of the Purdue basketball team will have further comment on the situation.
