@boilerbrother If the kids want to go straight to the NBA let them,but if they do go to college they should have to stay til their junior yr. just like they do in college football
@WesleyOnline College hoops/NBA should have a 2-and-done rule - less busts in the NBA, better college hoops. It's win-win.
@cmlrun I agree, one-and-done should be gone. I would prefer three years of college ball, then opt for the draft.
@DTGeorge minimum of 2 years for basketball player. they can mature as young men while defining their game. and no jumping to the EU!
@glass_slippers It should be changed. If you're a kid who knows you're leaving, I doubt school is really high on your priority list.
@glass_slippers So, you're basically just killing time until you get drafted, which isn't necessarily a very good thing.
@glass_slippers Either let them go right out of high school or give them a couple more years of college time.
@nateerickson I said "education comes first" at college; I should have said, "where education should come first." But you get the idea.
@kyle_lamb The ideal situation is using MLB and the structure they have (either going after high school or waiting three years).
@Feets31 should be the same as baseball. Straight to the league out of high school or after their year.
@nateerickson And notice it's really only targeting basketball/football -- no one criticizes Michelle Wie for going pro at what, 16 or so?
@dtdbob3 should be two and done. Gives one year of needed development / teaching. i.e BJ Mullens is not ready
@nateerickson But when you make a commitment to a college, where education comes first, the one-and-done/19-rule is a joke.
@nateerickson i like the jump from HS or sign for three years rule. no one should be kept out of the pros if they can go right away.
@JGHue - Players should stay in school longer to hone b-ball skills they'll need to make it to the NBA for longer period of time
@Cooler_Guy i think it should be 2 yrs or 20 y/o
